Times are strange

While we all navigate how best to live through the unknowns of COVID-19, Christen is supporting clients virtually. For families that prefer in-person support, she is open to discussion and would be happy to share the safety precautions she and her family are taking in their daily lives.

Christen Russo, Birth Doula

It’s just me right now! However, I arrange to have a backup doula available for every birth, in the event that I am unexpectedly unable to attend.

So glad you’re here!

Christen began supporting Pittsburgh women and their families as a doula in January of 2017. She's currently serving clients during their prenatal, birth, and postpartum seasons, and she's pretty dang enthusiastic about it.

Christen is cheerful, genuine, and asks the tough questions. She lives in Pittsburgh’s North Side with her growing family, existing among homemade music and laughter and knickknacks. She herself is a mother whose own birth required radical adaptability. It was an experience through which she relied heavily on the support of her doula—and of her husband, who also learned a lot about how to be of support from their doula.

Every individual’s situation is their own, and Christen is prepared to offer gentle encouragement to you through yours. Those who might be interested in incorporating Christen into their birth team are invited to drop a line. Inquiring minds that simply want to know more about working with a doula in general are also welcome to get in touch and are under no obligation to formally work with her.
